    All Sorts of Scones and Spreads

    This book of various rolled or drop scone recipes really has something for everyone. Bran scones, or mashed potato and bacon scones; a diversity of tasty recipes is here. Recipes for spreads are included. On a rare occasion, an odd ingredient is required, but usually the ingredients will be those with which you are familiar. Not overly complicated recipes, this little cookbook is recommended.

    If you want to try baking something new.

    I like cookbooks to have pictures of the end product. This is the only reason I gave this book a Good rating instead of excellent. However, this book has everything else you would possibly want in a scone cookbook. The title says it all, "Simply Scones." Everything from what spreads to serve and also how to make tea to go with the scones. Plus the authors give you ideas on how you could adjust the recipes to fit your likes. Even if you're new to baking, the recipes are very simple and turn out delicious.

    Very nice little book. Authors "speak" to you. Easy recipes. It would be great to see more pictures of the recipes but it is very good anyway. It looks like old-time recipe book.

    Good Recipes........

    The recipes in this book are good. The only bad feature is that there are no pictures. I love a cookbook with pictures so you can see the finished product. Even though scones aren't "exciting" it would be nice to see them on pretty antique plates, etc. The book is small in size too; but, the recipes seem interesting and not all that difficult.

More to explore :
